As you know, I make “Israeli” salad. I try to get at least 5 colors of “things” in my salad. Today at the Harris Teeter I bought an orange bell pepper. You won’t believe how expensive it was. One - ONE - orange bell pepper: $2.99! WTF?! Aliyha is worth it just for the savings in veggies.

No kidding! When we were living in boston, it was a real treat to have a salad, partly because we are vegetable snobs (could not bring ourselves to eat the poor facsimile of cucumbers that were at the supermarket) and partly because we were, well, broke. And even the shitty veggies were absurdly expensive.
Now we have salad every evening and feel like gazillionaires. I feel your pain/shock/outrage/sadness/denial.
