So today we had a missile attack drill. Here’s what Ynet had to say about it:
Security forces, rescue services to participate Tuesday in massive drill simulating conventional and unconventional terror attacks across country, in order to implement lessons learned from war in Lebanon. Siren to be sounded in south, center of Israel at 2 p.m.
I made a video (my first YouTube contribution) of the event:
It feels weird to look out at the pretty scene on my balcony and hear that loud siren - knowing that it’s needed. They’re even simulating a missile landing at the Reading Power Station. It’s within a 30 minute walk from my apartment.
Another day in Israel.

hey, you can really hear it where you are! I’m right next to the port and when it first started going off I wasn’t even sure if it was the siren. The traffic outside my apartment totally drowned it out. No fair.

It’s plenty loud here!
Thanks, NC! They’re Jerusalem, um, transplants! They like it better in Tel Aviv too!

WOW. So loud. Kinda makes me think of the 50’s “duck and cover” films for in case Russia “send us up the bomb.”
